I have been putting off buying a ticket so I could make sure everything was done and in order before I left. It slowly dawned on me that, in lieu of a fixed deadline, tasks were taking up all the time allotted and more.

So I drew a line in the sand and bought a ticket. I depart Denver at 12:15pm on Thursday, May 12th and arrive in Bangkok at 1:00am Saturday, May 14th.

If it sounds like it’s a long plane ride, it is–but not as long as the arrival and departure dates would lead you to believe.

There is a 13 hour difference between Denver and Bangkok, so I leave at 1:15am Friday the 13th, Bangkok time and arrive 23:45 later. Yeah, that is a long plane ride—with two transfers to boot.

I hope the trans-pacific leg is not crowded and I get a few extra seats to sprawl across so I can sleep.

Buying the ticket has me psyched; suddenly my trip is real. I can’t wait to get traveling.
